The best of Australia’s fine food showcased in Hong Kong

Media Release

THE BEST OF AUSTRALIA’S FINE FOOD SHOWCASED IN HONG KONG

Hong Kong, 16 August 2012. Today, Australia’s 190-year-old Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) marked a historic first, showcasing “best of the best” fine foods in Hong Kong. Exhibiting at the Hong Kong Food Expo, the RAS is undertaking its first foreign Expo trade mission in its history.

Fine foods which have been highly-awarded in the RAS’ “Sydney Royal” competitions are being sampled by expert chefs and traders at the Expo through August 20th. “Having my macadamia nut products showcased at the Expo is my Olympic experience”, said Jelbonleigh Estate managing director Donna Burton. As for all producers on display at the RAS’ Hong Kong exhibit, the Byron Bay producer was a Sydney Royal medal winner.

“The range of products on display at the Expo will include olive oils, dairy products, bakery products, sauces and nuts. Their outstanding medal-winning credentials highlight excellence in quality, and we’re confident the products will be well-received in China and Hong Kong,” said RAS CEO Michael Kenny. RAS director of trade and development George Davey said, “Australia has an enviable reputation as one of the world’s leading producers of high quality, clean and safe food. The products we’re showcasing in Hong Kong this week are testament to that.”

Headquartered in Sydney, the non-profit RAS was established in 1822, and received its Royal charter from Queen Victoria in 1891. The RAS has been an influential force in Australian agriculture for almost two centuries.

The products on display have been judged as exceptional by Australia’s leading food experts at the “Sydney Royal” fine food, dairy and wine competitions, and have enviable reputations in Australian food trade and consumer markets. The Sydney Royal competitions are internationally known for their rigour and integrity. Australians recognise Sydney Royal medals as the mark of excellence and the foods that win them as the ‘best of the best’.

The RAS’ Sydney Royal organisation is also host of the largest annual event in the southern hemisphere, the Sydney Royal Easter Show, which has been ‘bringing the country to the city’ for over a century.

Trust in business: When client and agency agree to agree

Friday, August 6th, 2010

One of our most revered clients is the industry leader in a disruptive and innovative optics technology. While they are not without their share of challenges faced by start-ups in a phase of economic strife, they are adored by the Illuminant team for their constrained and balanced energy. We love working with them, and we enjoy the chemistry

They are, in many ways, an “ideal client”.

While the “ideal client” may not be defined by a universal standard in business relationships, one quality consistently stands above others: trust.

When a client faithfully relies on their agency to provide sensible guidance, the “opinionated” approach to design disappears. The process is no longer about style or personal preference; now, it’s about facts and compelling, simplified and branded information. The client is empowered to describe their product or service through organised material, and since this makes their job easier, they are happy.

At Illuminant, we are quick to suggest refreshing a stagnant concept, and persistent to defend a brand’s history when the client proposes visual changes to match internal habits, but we always begin by making sure the execution is effective. In this stage of consideration, we have to manage our clients’ expectations. Our clients respond well to this. They may rush forwards with a new recommendation, but they’re just as quick to put their excitement on hold and weigh the costs, advantages, and effort required, while still trusting us to make the best options available.

Sino GoldIt’s a kind of destiny for Illuminant and the largest foreign gold mining company in China, Sino Gold to come together.

Two days before the Chinese national day holiday, Mr. Wang called the Illuminant Beijing office for a broad range of PR and communications needs. Senior Account Manager Amy Meng answered the call and took Mr. Wang’s brief and within 24 hours, a full strategic communications plan was delivered to our prospect. On the first working day after the holiday, Mr. Wang called us back, very happy with our professional proposal, and two days after that Illuminant and the leading gold mining company signed their services contract.

Thanks to all the efficient Illuminant team members, the team started work from the next day. Our Beijing-based video taping team was sent out to two remote areas of China while our Sydney-based team was despatched to get corporate images. Carlo Aspri’s Olympic summer

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

After a wonderfully well-received debut concert July 19 at the YAMAHA Music Performance Center, Carlo Aspri’s success continued with hit performances at the British Columbia Pavilion during the Olympics, a VIP-only mini-concert at the Canada Club, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Shaolin Monastery.

Carlo Aspri performs at the Canada Club Beijing 2008-08-15

Carlo, a phenomenally gifted young composer and pianist from Quebec, entertained crowds at the British Columbia Pavilion’s Pub Night events. Attended by dozens of VIPs, the Pub Nights gave Carlo the opportunity to support his native land during the Olympics. He performed classic favorites as well as his own compositions.

Carlo was also honored when the Canadian Embassy asked him to perform at an exclusive, VIP-only event at the Canadian Club, celebrating the 400th anniversary of his native Quebec. Carlo performed traditional Quebec music and was touched by the opportunity to honor his home.

Fresh off his Gamestime success, Carlo headed off to Shaolin Monastery, for a much deserved week of gong fu training and exercise. It was a terrific chance for Carlo to continue his study of Chinese gong fu, at the world’s premier gong fu center. Carlo enjoyed the opportunity to train with the Shaolin monks and even took the opportunity to create a video chronicling his experience at the monastery.

It’s been a terrific summer for Canada’s next great musical export, with more excitement sure to come this fall.
